LTCIF’s 3rd Educational Teleconference for 2007 Drawing Near
On Friday November 9th, Dr. Galvin will be presenting the first of a three part series that will culminate at our annual conference in Phoenix Arizona May 7 – 9, 2008.
The mission: To gain a better understanding of cognitive impairment from a 360 degree approach, with focus from the clinical to the insurance perspective.
Session 1: Educational Teleconference, Friday November 9th 2007 — Dr. James Galvin Washington University St. Louis. Dr. Galvin will focus is presentation on Mild Cognitive Impairment from a purely clinical perspective.
The goal of this session is to increase awareness of the:
- Underlying causes of cognitive impairment and its characteristics, Differences and similarities between Cognitive Impairment and Dementia Staging;
- What is the progression of Cognitive Impairment;
- Characteristics of Mild Cognitive Impairment, and
- Common Movement from MCI to moderate to severe cognitive impairment.
Session 2: Annual Conference Session, scheduled for Thursday May 8, 2008 in Phoenix — Dr. David Lovejoy will speak on Neuropsychology:
- What is Neuropsychology?
- What testing and diagnostic tools are used?
- What is different about their approach compared to a MD? How is it similar?
- How does a Neuropsychologist differentiate between Age Normal, Mild, Moderate and Severe cognitive impairment.
Session 3: Annual Conference Session, scheduled for Friday May 9, 2008 in Phoenix — Dr. Bruce Margolis, Cam Cook and a panel of industry experts will speak on the Practical uses for the information we have learned for Claims and Underwriting.
