This teleconference featured two Medical Directors, two 15 minute presentations and an open forum for questions.

  • Dr. Rosalie Mastropolo, MD– Metropolitan Life Insurance Company  
    Topic: Cardiology – Unusual Echo findings, which are the ones you worry about.

    Dr. Rosalie Mastropolo is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Insurance Medicine.  After graduating from Columbia University’s College of Physician and Surgeons, she completed her specialty training in the greater NY Metropolitan area.  She remained there practicing noninvasive cardiology for ten years  before entering the world of Insurance Medicine.  She has worked as a Medical Director for Unum, Swiss Re, and Metropolitan Life in Life, Disability and LTC Insurance
  • Dr. Stephen Holland, MD– The Long Term Care Group, Inc
    Topic: Rheumatology - Current Medication

    Stephen Holland, Senior Vice President and Medical Director of the Long Term Care Group since its inception in 1990, is the lead author of LTCG’s Guide to Long Term Care Underwriting, which is now in its sixth edition and licensed internationally. He is responsible for the design and development of the Company’s long-term care underwriting criteria and protocols benefit determination standards and claims/care management criteria and technologies. Long Term Care Group’s Underwriting Standards are recognized and accepted as an industry standard by leading LTCI insurers and reinsurers throughout the world. In addition, Dr. Holland has performed a number of Best Practice Claims, Underwriting Audits, and Underwriting Criteria review projects for several of the country’s largest LTCI carriers and was selected by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management to review and critique the Federal Long Term Care Insurance Program’s Underwriting Standards.
